Mary O Brien, Travel and Food Writer

I travel, I eat, I meet lovely people, I write about my adventures.

I’m a freelance journalist who specialises in travel, food and feature writing. I work for Fairfax newspapers and various magazines. I contribute to The Sunday Age M magazine travel section and I write for The Saturday Age’s Spectrum. I’m also a contributor to Jetstar magazine, Air Niugini’s Paradise and Royal Auto magazine.

I was on staff at The Age for 14 years and four years ago I opted for the freedom of freelancing. Over the years I have also had work published in Good Food/Epicure, and the Weekly Review magazine.

In the distant past, I worked in Hong Kong and Ireland.

I am a member of the Australian Society of Travel Writers (ASTW) and the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA).

You can connect with me on Twitter here, and on  LinkedIn here and if you wish email me here.
